Neutrinos cosmic travelers... or maybe cosmic ambassadors, bringing a little bit of the wider universe to our tiny little backwater and taking something of us on to someone else. A nice thought. :D

The first neutrino catcher was a huge vat of cleaning fluid with detectors attached. You can find photos of the newer ones which are huge bucky-balls of fluids with detectors on every panel.
