My library haul:
Mystery novels:
The Child Who by Simon Lelic, a British mystery about a horrific crime where a child is the accused. I started it and it's very good so far.
The Betrayal of Trust by Susan Hill, another British mystery, involving a "cold case" where the crime was committed twenty years ago. It's part of a series so if I like it I'll have another series to read.
My Soul to Take, by Yrsa Sigurdardóttir, an Icelandic mystery about a female lawyer and investigator. I read one other in the series and thought it was quite good.
Manga:
Godchild 7. I'm getting bogged down at the end because it's not "episodic" like before and there are a bunch of characters to remember. But I still want to know what happens, so I'll try to make it through this and Volume 8 which is the last.
Yotsuba&! 1. I think I've actually read the first few of this but I don't have them anymore and I'd like to start the series over again.
German-related:
"How to Pronounce German Correctly," which is a CD with a booklet. I'm not sure I'll ever really pronounce German correctly without being able to have another class or at least talk to German speakers, but this probably won't hurt.
German Vocabulary, which is a workbook though of course I'm not going to write in it. It looks pretty good, maybe a bit above my level but I might as well give it a try.
A book of German short stories in German and English, meant for English speakers learning German which is me. I've been looking for something like this! Though it seems to be the only book like this that my library has unless I want to re-read "Sorrows of Young Werther" which I guess I could.
And a German movie called "Go for Zucker," directed by Daniel Levi which is a comedy about a non-religious Jewish guy trying to pass himself off as religious to get an inheritance. I took one look at the plot summary and said "No, what, really? How did I not know about this? I must watch it."
