I ended up deciding that since it was going to be 85 degrees on Saturday in VA, that it was probably a good idea ( Read more... )

Interesting. Do you think the shape of your body has changed in that way because of carrying and giving birth to Noah?

Oh, I know it did. My boobs went up from a 34D to a 34DDD (boobs do not get smaller in my family after birth) and my hips are much wider than they were. I can no longer wear low-rise jeans, and I wear a 12-14 now instead of a 10-12, but that's more to do with cuts than with actual size, as I only gained 5-10 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. Everything is just distributed differently now.

Stacy and Clinton would be so proud of you for trying clothes outside your comfort zone.

First, I'm thinking I should probably try on that dress. I was under the same impression, and while I'm less rack-of-doom-y than you are, I've got the Hips of Doom OMG. And I've actually had luck once in the past with a sheath dress.

The last time I tried on a pencil skirt, I cried. Of course, I probably would still have to have it tailored, but . . . I was looking at Cuddy on House wearing a pencil skirt, and I realized that while I'm on a much grander scale than her (ahem), she still has a rather narrow waist and noticeable hips, and pencil skirts look great on her. So maybe they'll look less like crap on me if, well, I had one that fit properly. Maybe.

Or I could have a baby and hope I'm lucky like you. :)
