So we had our inspection yesterday on the house and they uncovered not only a *massive* mold problem, but a foundational problem, and several other issues that, in the end, were too much for us to deal with on top of all of the other fixes we were trying to do, so we walked away. Electrical AND Gas problems? Sounds like a TIME BOMB.

Ah, we actually had a gas issue that could have made the place blow up (pipe wasn't closed off or something). That doesn't sound so bad.

The FHA is much stricter than the city from what we've found too. We're lucky our inspector is actually more meticulous and picky than the FHA appraiser. :o)

I'm sorry this didn't work out for you. Don't forget that you can take your time on things, look at a house here and there. Ni-sprog isn't due until November, so you can look leisurely throughout the summer, see if there's anything that would work for you, and decide in a few months what you're going to do.
