OMG, Golden Boy is like a train wreck, but you jsut can't turn away. I wish I could take Japanese classes but none are offered here.

I dont mind not ending up in Tokyo, It's just a train ride away really. Umm... What are the living conditions like? What sort of pay is involved from tutoring in english and such? And what steps do they take to acclimate you to the society?

Thanks for the information. I'm pretty much bracing myself for the fact that it's a quiet, business oriented society, but thats fine really. just beign i a new country, and seeing the country side will be more than enough. Plus Im doing what I can to learn the language now.

Sounds like fun. I say go for it. Everyone else seems to be.

I find it amusing though that you used the word "diversity" to describe Tokyo. I think immigrants make up about 2-4% of Japans total population. That is an incredibly generous number too as I'm almost positive that it isn't any higher than 3% tops.
