What a day.

I really, really needed E to nap today, or at least cooperate and stay in her room for the 30 minute quiet time.  But no on both counts. Charlie doesn't usually have nearly the problem with her popping out of her room a billion times when he supervises quiet time.  I should probably just change my whole tack and not give her Mommy milk, since it ( Read more... )

Is this book any good? Would you recommend it for a 19 m/o? What kinds of activities does it focus on? I'm really hoping to keep Angela happy and stimulated this summer. Lately things have been hectic, and it seems like she's been watching a lot of Yo Gabba Gabba... But in a couple of days I will be all hers - but I hope she will have fun, and sometimes I doubt myself...

I'll let you know! It was under $10, and I liked how many ideas it has, since I won't run out in the time I plan to use it in. I don't know anything else about it, though, it was basically an impulse buy last night. :-)

It's not really worth it. The format is not the easiest to navigate, and there are a lot of variations of ideas that are counted as separate ideas. There's also a really long list of materials, so a lot of the ideas I won't be able to do because I don't have the necessary materials and either don't want to spend the money or don't have the room to store them.

Bleah, I'm sorry! The giving up of naps is SO hard, I really, really miss them. I'm only just now getting used to having a long day. But then, for us, no nap means the difference between a 8-9 bedtime and a 10-11:30 bedtime, and she doesn't get too cranky in the afternoon (although lately she's been acting like she has PMS or is Dr. Jekel/Ms. Hyde with her mood swings! But that's all day, sigh). It does mean we're pretty much prisoners in our house in the afternoon and early evening, though, because she's out almost instantly in the car and even if it's just 15 minutes, it completely throws off evening sleep ( ... )

I got your comment in my email a while back, and thought you were referring to one of the homeschool methods and couldn't figure out which one! Then I came here and read and realized you meant the book. Oh well, already have mine, haven't had a chance to read.

Reading the classical book you mentioned earlier and I think I like! Might do some from it as well. There's just so much to consider!
