Thanks for the input on my polls yesterday. :-)  I ended up going to Belgrade for story time because I had some errands to run, too, and a busy morning seemed like a better idea than trying to leave in time to run errands before book club.  We had a good morning, and a laid back afternoon. She napped for about a half an hour in the car on the way

Generally I don't care for wood cabinets but yours are gorgeous!

Thanks! I like wood cabinets. We also have brown marbled counters and laminate floors, though, so it's more same, same, same than I would have chosen, but it works and is easier to accessorize than any other sameness would have been. ;-)

I'm seriously in love with that kitchen. We want to remodel ours, but it's so narrow we can't do an island. Might make our peninsula bigger.

I'll see if I can dig up the pictures we were sent of what the kitchen looked like before they gutted the house for us. It had a peninsula with overhanging cabinets where the island is now. I'm amazed at how much more space having the island instead of the peninsula created. Your peninsula is at a right angle to the narrowness, though, and this one was creating the narrowness.

We would consider knocking out the pantry, but since the laundry chute runs though there it wouldn't allow us to enlarge. I think we'll end up doing either a breakfast nook or island in eat-in area. We NEVER eat there, so it's just wasted space now. Will probably eventually become part of homeschool area.
