Mom Fail

Oct 07, 2013 20:34

My daughter's 3rd birthday and birthday party are on Saturday, and at 38 weeks pregnant, my son could arrive any day.  Mom of the Year over here CAN'T FIND HER CAMERA!!!  And I need to find it by Friday at the latest, because I remember very distinctly noting that it's batteries were dying right before putting it somewhere where E couldn't get her ( Read more... )

Man, I forgot about the Braxton-Hicks, and I was only doing those a year ago. It was like having a big rock for a belly like ALL THE TIME. Also that walking thing, and the insomnia thing, and the hormone thing, and every thing!

I'm just amazed you can even host a party.

That's why it's at the museum! All we have to do is show up!

VERY glad to hear about E's progress with nursing, because it gives me hope! We're still at needing it every night to fall asleep, but she's given up morning for the most part (I'm curious how that will pan out when Brian starts working again and isn't there in morning to take her downstairs). Glad it looks like you'll get a break.

That's awesome about the museum hosing the party! I'm seriously jealous of that place every time you all post pix! One is supposed to open this month REALLY close to us, but it seems pricey ($15 for kid and adult together). But I'll take anything in winter when the local farm closes. Hah, I'd worry about that too, only 2 kids coming. One reason I didn't throw one. Which is a silly reason. I'm sure everyone will have fun.

Our Children's Museum is $5 a person, so it would be $15 for all three of us for a single visit, but a year's membership for a family -- any size -- is $65. Totally worth it. Plus, that got us a discount on the party. We need to check out the Museum of the Rockies, too, which is a science museum in Bozeman. Their memberships are comparably priced, but a single visit is like $20 a person! So we haven't been there yet. ;-)

It's nice, too -- the party rate includes admission for up to 12 kids, and any accompanying adults are free, so parents can stay or drop off, depending on what they want to do. Since E and the two who are coming so far all have a tendency to unpredictable silence/hiding behind mom/observing instead of participating, parents could be a big help. ;-)

Nice!!!! I think everyone will have great time. Don't know yet if new place will offer family discount. But, honestly, I think in winter, price will be no object! :) We don't get many museums because no one wants to compete with DC and Baltimore. But I don't want to drive that far and park with an easily overwhelmed child. I saw pix of a friend's 2 year old son today with Micky Mouse at Disney World and I felt sad that Wyrmling would NOT like that. But then, I don't want to deal with Disney World either because of crowds.
