I'm trying to figure out if Godscalck (retired) might have been one of the people bailing Theo's ass out of the fire when he fell in love went batshit. =P
(er, yeah, something rather different. ^_^ Storm, capital S, has nothing to do with weather and everything to do with the knots their world ties itself in.)
Oh, Theo's getting really interesting. He seems less like a clumsy kid now and more a mysterious young man.. can't wait to find out more about him.
As usual, the writing here is excellent. I love Godscalck talking about the difference between a sailor and a Navigator. Learning more about his and Johim's history was a welcome element too.
Like navigators who know the 'where' and sailors who know the 'how', your writing makes me excited for the future of these characters while at the same time not sacrificing the richness of their interactions in the present. I think you've got a great balance there.
Thank you! I'm so glad this story's been well received. ^_^ I'm torn now - continue this next month, or switch to something else for awhile? Decisions! Thank you for reading!
Hi, neko! Love this continuation of the story. I really like how you've been handling these seafaring stories, you really deliver and maintain the ambience very well
( ... )
I'm supposed to be one of your editors (a slacking one, but editor nonetheless) but there's not a lot here I think needs editing. You've got a strong piece here, though it opens slowly, Godscalck has a good voice.
I love the conversation between him and Theo, and the difference between the Navigators and Sailors, and the reverence Godscalck has for both.

Haha! That's brilliant! I loved the whole part with Theo at the wheel. And I love ship/sea/sailing related stories anyway, so I really enjoyed this.
