Sam had never believed in God or the Devil. Heaven and Hell, he thought, was a concept humans came up with to make themselves feel better about death. Believing that there was something waiting for them eased their fear, eased the grief of loosing a loved one. He was starting to believe that maybe he was wrong. Not that he ever had any reason to believe in God, but surely the pain he had had to endure throughout his life wasn't normal. He was starting to believe that there was something out there, something more powerful that was purposely inflicting this pain on him. Testing how far it could push before he broke.
At 19 Sam had lost everything. When he was 14 a car accident had claimed the lives of everyone that ever loved him. His parents, his little sister, even his grandparents. With no one to look after him, he had been thrown into foster care. That hadn't lasted long. His first foster family had not been able to accept his grief and soon thrown him back. The second was even worse; Tom, his foster father had taken his innocence the very first night he arrived. No one would believe him, said that he was making up lies, unable to deal with the grief of loosing his family. Broken and scared, Sam had ran.
For four and a half years Sam had lived on the streets. He did what he had to to survive and surviving meant being broken. He no longer remembered what it felt like to live without pain, without the cuts and bruises the men that used him so liked to inflict. He knew it wasn't right, Chad, his only friend never had a scratch on him so he couldn't understand why it was only him who attracted the aggressive ones. Chad told him it was because he shined with an innocence people liked to destroy. He guessed it must have been true. After all, what other possible reason could there be.
3 years ago Chad had found him, shivering and starving to death. Not able to resist the broken boy he had taken him under his wing. After realising Sam was allowing people to use him for $5 he vowed never to leave the boy alone again. They started as friends, and soon became lovers. Sam didn't kid himself into believing he was in love with Chad. He loved him more then anything, knew he couldn't live without him, but their intimacy was born from a desperate need to feel anything other then the pain. To be in love was something that he would never feel. He had accepted that a long time ago.
Deans Pov
He remembered the first moment he had laid eyes on him. So young and happy. Seeing that dimpled smile for the first time, he knew that he had to have him. He could have taken him by force right there but that would never be enough. No, Sam was different, he had better more permanent plans for this one.
Dean watched the boy with a predatory grin. Sam was walking back to his precious Chad with yet another limp. It wasn't rare to see this. Men seemed to love causing Sammy pain, after all, he looked so pretty when he cried. He hated to see others touch what was his, but it was necessary for now. Soon nobody would ever touch the kid but him again and that time was so close now. He had been patient for 5 years. Watching the boy from afar and waiting till he knew without a doubt that with the right manipulation, the boy would be his forever. He continued to follow Sam to an old abandoned building that he and Chad called home for the time being. Soon that would all change.
Later that night Dean watched Sammy whimpering and thrashing in his sleep, feeling the soft murmurs from the boys lips going straight to his cock. Sam hadn't gone a night without nightmares since he was 14. Unable to control himself he reached out and swept the soft bangs out of Sam's face before lightly trailing his fingers down his left cheek, letting his thumb rest on his bottom lip and marveling at the softness. He allowed himself to linger longer than usual, loving the feel of the warm breath ghosting over his hand. Sam's whimpers stopped and he was soon relaxing into Dean's touch. It gave him a rush, knowing how well his touch could fool the boy into a very wrong sense of security. He would let him have that feeling for a little while longer. Soon enough Sam's life was going to get much worse.
