The Year in Review...

Jan 01, 2009 02:02

Well, this will sorta be the year in review. Earlier in the week I was kinda feeling like I had nothing to show for 2008, especially since in 2007 I said 2008 would be my year for my writing career and I am not published, nor do I have an agent. The thing is, I was talking about my writing with my sister last week and the first book I ever wrote. ( Read more... )

You were certainly up late ... Happy New Year to you!

I think you accomplished a great deal in 2008 ... you finished your book, and you've been working on fine tuning it, and I think 2009 will be the year you see it published.

Yeah I was up late. I was watching Supernatural! Thanks so much for having faith in me and my writing. It's because of friends like you that I have such determination. Truthfully, I finished Light Bringers in 2007. I started it on June 14 2007 and finished it in Nov 2007, but that was when it was an adult novel. I changed it to Young Adult in 2008 and rewrote it, so I guess you could say I've finished it in 2008. All the same, I'm very proud of it and can't wait to see it on the shelves!

God, has it REALLY been that long? I can remember when you were just finishing up the first chapter!

I know, right? I can remember the day I thought of it so clearly and then coming up with all the characters and their powers. It was a lot of fun--lol.

I'm happy to hear that you have learned a lot in 2008 to get you on the right start for 2009. :) I know that your dream of being a published author will come true if you just keep at it. Some of our favorite authors took a long time to get where they are so, we are also on our way. Just don't give up!!!! Happy Writing. :)

I was just reading on Melissa Marr's site that it took her about 6months to write Wicked Lovely, get an agent and publisher and I was thinking...WTF? I read that it was roughly the same thing for Stephenie Meyer and Twilight. I know there is no time limit but then I start to think, am I moving too slow? That thought doesn't last long. It's just my impatience talking and I know I can't rush it if I want my book to be right. I'm certainly not planning to give up. So here's to productive writing in 2009!
