Not to say I disagree that women should be confident in their appearance,
but I fail to see how this particular vein of self-awareness differs from your own self-declared interest in "anorexia."

i always find it amusing that any time someone sees my "own self-declared interest in anorexia" s/he always assumes it means i support anorexia. maybe it's the effect anorexia has on an individual that i am interested in? just because someone is interested in serial killers doesn't mean someone supports them - maybe they're just interested in learning about them. i find the psychology behind the disease to be really interesting. that's why i have a self-declared interest.

I honestly don't know how anyone could equate interest with support?? Like how Schwarzenegger said he had an interest in dictators, and everyone made a big stink about it. It doesn't mean he's going to be one .. that was just product of the time place in which he growing up. Same with anorexia. Its been plaguing women for years but now and especially in the US its HUGE and it would be strange if people didnt show interest in it.
