My dog officially has no tail. It has been replaced with a shaved nubbin that wiggles when he is happy. It is a very sad sight, but it does not seem to be bothering him and that is all I can ask.

don't worry, he wasn't aware of his tail anyway, and now the cancer/tumor-i-badness won't spread. And at least you still have a dog (albeit, a large over-grown excited puppy).
