Punishment

What do you think is the proper punishment for a 7 yr old that steals your entire paycheck? Any suggestions? Advice?? O_o I've been told my idea of punishment is too harsh.

One month's grounding from everything. I let her play with her toys. But no one's allowed over, she's not allowed outside. No phone, computer, ds, tv, radio.

This one time I did something like that and my mother found out so she drove me to the police station and told me that I had to turn myself in for being a theif. I was around the same age as your seven-year-old. I was so scared that I didn't know what to do so I sat there...and cried. lol.

So...maybe take her to a police station and tell her to turn herself in? It sure scared me. I'd still continue the punishment you've already given her, of course.

I've thought about it, but at the same time I was told it may just do some harm because she's got a little bit of an attitude problem sometimes. It would depend on her mood I suppose. But even my girlfriend said it may do nothing, and she might just find it one of those fascinating situations and ask him questions, or be like, 'hey, your shoes untied. No it's not, but you looked. Lol'. She's a little prankster like that sometimes.

Idk. I'm just all sorts of confused. :-/
