I'm really not the weepy sort of mom. I didn't cry when my kids learned to walk, or ride their bikes, or the first time they said "I love you" (or "I hate you"). I don't cry when they get hurt, don't make a team, come in second (or last). I am more the cheerleader sort. I am happy for them, their new found independence, new abilities, new ( Read more... )

I'm not a parent, but I'll hazard a guess and say that sometimes it hits you that their future as independent adults really is getting closer.
