I finally got around to watching Persepolis (I wanted to read all the books first), and while this is an amazing moment regardless, I think I have a particular appreciation for it, having spent four years with the song and then a year learning to love French people's attempt at English:

So I've finally gotten around to reading Thomas Pynchon (I'm starting with The Crying of Lot 49 to keep it simple), and it is so amazing. I'm in love!

Not only did I finish my first day without any mishaps, I also got a letter saying they have my carte de sejour at the prefecture. That's the paper that makes me a legal French resident, and will allow me to get money back off of my rent and not have to shell out for doctor's appointments.
