Shocked and apalled.

Alton Brown is a cool guy. I respected his show and totally loved everything he did. Until now.

This is an excerpt from an interview recently posted.

He also points to the Travel Channel's popular eating challenge show "Man vs. Food" as "disgusting." "I think it's a sin," he states. "That show is about gluttony, and gluttony is wrong. It's ( Read more... )

I try to separate the Alton from Good Eats/Iron Chef America from the Alton... everywhere else. I was watching, uh, god, I don't remember, maybe Next Food Network Star? And he came across as such a dick. It broke my heart. :/ I forgot about that until I read this, I guess I managed to block it out.

Poor Adam. I don't watch Man vs Food often but when I catch it on, I always love it. He just seems like a great guy.

People I admire need to stop being lame. Or I need to start separating their creative work from their personality. Like the authors of some of my favorite Doctor Who novels are raving lunatics. Whyyyy. :C

I know, right? You try to separate the two. Whenever he's a judge, he's kind of a douche. It just sucks.

Adam is awesome...he's just such a cool guy, he didn't deserve this.

People who make great things tend to be crazy! It's unfair! haha

I mean, I can kind of see how the concept is gross. But he called the entire show disgusting. I totally admit, some of the challenges are like "ugh, how can you do that?" but the show is so much more than that. I love Good Eats like woah, but this comment just kind of threw me, that's all.

He's definitely gotten a lot...different, I'd say. I just remember old Alton, who was happy about pretty much everything good, wholesome, and food-related.

Alton is an awesome guy, and I love that he does that for businesses. But this comment just threw me. :[

I ADORE Man V Food. It's funny, and Adam is awesome and a brilliant presenter. He's always respectful and nice to the people who work in the places he goes to. I <3 him, and have lost all respect for Alton now that he's said that.
