What a fel-damned mess.

The cultist activity in the orcish lands has grown far worse than I had anticipated.  The guards have found reason to believe that these fools not only believe the end of the world is coming, they’re actively working to help it along.  Reports indicate that they’re now attempting to infiltrate Orgrimmar and summon in elemental monsters through clandestine portals, in order to sow chaos and destruction.

In response, the new Warchief has instituted martial law.  All of Orgrimmar is locked down, and those entering are required to be searched before being allowed in.  I spent hours at the gates yesterday, trying to assist in keeping order.  The crowd grew both in size and anger moment by moment, it’s only by luck that we didn’t have a full blown riot on our hands.

I can think of many, many things I’d rather do than try to contain an angry orcish mob.  Sun, they’re violent enough when they’re not rioting.

As if that wasn’t enough of an issue on its own, Ceirin Windstriker is dead.  At the hands of a knight, it appears.  Chief among the probable suspects is one of the Battleguard, Zenaether Skyfire.  He has motive, and the manner of her death is consistent with his tactics.  He also appeared glad that she had been killed when informed of the situation.  Fel, he makes it worse for himself and all of us and he doesn’t even seem to care.  And now the Commander has moved us all to Orgrimmar to assist with the situation… I don’t want to think about Skyfire as part of a riot guard.  He’d be likely to start one himself!  The child needs to be put in his place, and soon.

I also spent some time speaking with Damiren Dawngrove, the young knight who had been spending time with Miss Windstriker at the tavern.  I sent him back to Silvermoon, to prepare for a trial he’s apparently involved with in a few days.  Really, I just want him out of this mess of a city.  I don’t want him dealing with an angry crowd in his stressed condition, and I really don’t want him working alongside Avenger Skyfire.  The poor man needs to get some rest.  Perhaps focusing on the trial will give him something else to think about.

On top of all of this, I’ve been given the task of guarding the Commander’s brother, Calaban Blacksun.  By all accounts, he’s a dangerous, malevolent slime.  I’m not certain why the Commander wishes him free instead of imprisoned or destroyed, but I’ll make sure he’s taken care of.  It is regrettable, however - having to focus on him will severely limit my effectiveness in dealing with these new crises.

Each of these things, on their own, would be troublesome enough, albeit manageable.  All at once…

This is bad.
