Finished it Saturday night and had some time to process it all and take it all in (and also have an evil stomach bug of doom). I'll be reading some other reviews and commenting on them over the next few days but I sort of wanted to keep it all in my head for a while before I read things that I probably missed that will annoy me and start to taint ( Read more... )

Well I cried through the whole flipping thing too. I knew it was going to be heavy and loads of tissues will be needed when she killed Hedwig. Hedwig!!!

I need to reread the last bit with Harry in the afterlife talking to Dumbledore too. You are the not the only one that was a bit confused.

You know there are already two Albus Severus and Scorpius slash comms? lol.

Are there really?! Bloody hell, people move fast. I suppose it's opened a whole new world of fanfic really, hasn't it?

And Hedwig! That was gutting.

I've started it again now :D I reckon I'll read it about three times before I have a rest for a while.

Overall, I really loved the book. There was only a couple of areas where I was disappointed.

1) Fred?!?!? Why not Charlie instead? Charlie wasn't a major part of the story in any regard really, and therefore expendable. Poor George suffered a fate worse than death, I believe. (Actually, I didn't like the idea of any of the Weasley's getting killed. Oh well).

2) Lupin? Did ALL of the Marauders have to die? The new baby an orphan (although that does happen in real wars)?!? And such an odd choppy way to include Remus in the story, only to kill him off.

3) The Epilogue. I would have prefered a two year gap instead of a nineteen year one, showing how the wizarding world was recovering and the how the friendships and relationships were growing in the aftermath. That huge jump was quite sappy. The children of the world could have handled something other than a sugar-sweet ending.

But, the Snape story and the humanization of Dumbledore was excellent.

Sorry to take so long to reply - what a bloody time for RL to go ballistic!

I kinda thought one of the twins would go, it's sort of extra tragic when one twin dies. I was upset about Lupin though, even though I figured she might. I hated that the poor little baby got left to be brought up by christ knows who.

And I didn't mean to just turn Remus into a girl! I meant 'HE', obviously. :D

Sirius and Remus were all young and hot (and clearly gay)

Lmao... Yeah I was imagining all sorts too;)

I want to write a long ramble like thing about the book too but you've really said alot of what I wanted to say... The action was so fast in parts it was hard to take in and as you say the 'slow' tent and wedding bits etc seemed to drag... I wanted so much more from Remus and Peter too, it wasnt enough damnit, still we can always write more mwhaha.....I still cant really take it all in, will need to listen to it again.. I know one thing, I'm sad, maybe its silly but the world seems a little empty now without the thoughts of whats going to happen next spinning through my mind.....

Let moi know if you want an audio copy sweetie......

I feel bad for not crying.

THe hollow feeling if having read it is over now. I finished it and felt, well, like a bit of me had died.

Hedwig is sad but then, can you imagine him going through all of that with a bird cage under his arm?
Although she would have caught dinner so they wouldn't have had to eat bloody horrible mushrooms...

Yes, I daren't try to read them again, I don't know why. I'd just sit and read and read and read them all one after the other.

I am also not so sure about fanfiction now. Do I carry on writing?
