Sailor Moon, Hana Kimi, and Death Note reivew + others (manga)

Whew! It's been a while since I've posted...a LONG while. XD

Anyway, I'm going to actually start reviewing manga from now on. I can't do one for FMA YET because I'll probably end up writing a five page essay on it or something, lol.

ANYWAY~ Today, I will review Sailor Moon, Hana Kimi, and Death Note! Which so happens to be my first mangas EVER. Well, actually, I lied. Before Hana Kimi and Death Note, I had read Tokyo Mew Mew and Mermaid Melody, too...so I guess I'll do a quick review of those as well. :P

Sailor Moon: Ah, the classic mahou shoujo (translation: magical girl) manga. My very first anime, my very first manga - it takes a special place in my heart. From the beginning, I loved it, and I enjoyed reading it all the way to the end. Usagi is a very lovable character as well as the other senshi. I love the variety of characters SM has to offer us. And the plot! I loved the little arcs...they were just so entertaining to read, and you knew that each would have a happy ending, because well, SM ALWAYS has a happy ending. The romance between Usagi and Mamoru is incredibly adorable - you can tell they truly care for each other, instead of the typical superficial romance I find in other shoujo manga. The art is beautiful, flowy, and feminine. The only thing that keeps it from being excellent is that the arcs didn't really tie in together - it was another of those long, arc type manga where it doesn't really connect...but overall it was good.

Tokyo Mew Mew: Very cute art, cute characters, cute plot. Love Ichigo/Masaya, even though it could have been developed better. Typical mahou shoujo, has cliches here and there, but was a fun read.

Mermaid Melody: Same as above. The art is GORGEOUS, though! Though sometimes it's a little too "shoujo"-y.

Hana Kimi: Aww, this manga is so wonderful. I loved her character, it reminds me of Tohru from Fruits Basket. The thing I really love about this manga is the relationships between the characters - or rather, the development of them. It's very gradual, and the author lets you soak up every detail...it feels realistic in that sense. Sometimes, okay, OFTEN it dragged using fillers and such, but other than that, it was very enjoyable.

Death Note: My first manga that wasn't shoujo! LOL. Death Note was very, very entertaining. I love mystery stories, so naturally I loved this manga. Loved how the main character was anti-hero. Loved L. Loved Near. Loved the ending. Ryuuk writing Light's name down was the best part out of the whole manga, aside from hilarious L scenes.
