Hello ~ I'm here with more manga reviews. :3 And this is all shoujo, by the way. XD
Dengeki Daisy: Probably one of the best shoujo manga I've ever stumbled across. It starts off maybe a little bit cliche with the main female being poor and bullied by the rich kids, and being saved by the main male lead as well. But what's different are the characters themselves. The main female is not helpless, but she is strong. She may be strong, but she's not one of those perfect, inspiring females, either. She has many flaws such as being cruel at times or lying - and this sets apart from other manga I've read. The main male lead is quite good looking, but he isn't fawned by the other girls. He isn't even a student at the school - he works as a janitor. The main male lead may be good looking, but he is quite the opposite of perfection as well. He, too, is a liar and can be cruel at times. He also smokes, breaks laws, etc, but he is lovable all the same. This all makes the characters seem unique compared to other shoujo manga. The character development here is a major factor and plays a huge role in the plot. Seriously, this manga by far has the best development in shoujo. There is romance, but the plot drives the romance rather than the romance driving the plot as we see in other shoujo manga. The story seemed cliche at first as well, but as you keep reading, it forms more depth and is captivating. The art is pretty, as well. The humor is very creative and their facial expressions are absolutely hilarious sometimes! Rating: 9/10
Skip Beat: Haha. If you started this manga and stopped after 10 chapters or so, keep reading. Because that's exactly what I had done. At first, I was a little skeptical of this manga - it sounded a little too uninteresting for my taste. Especially the first few chapters - I was getting more and more impatient. But as the story continues, it keeps getting better and better. Sure, the romance development is slow, but that just makes it more realistic. I also love how the main point of the story is Kyoko's goals rather than just romance. Very good manga!~ 8.5/10
Ouran High School Host Club: I loved the anime for this one, but I felt that it didn't have a proper ending, so I started reading the manga. Boy, was I so not disappointed. This manga delivers the best humor and the most lovable characters. None of the characters are perfect, they each have their flaws. The story might drag a bit, and I confess that it does have fillers, but they were all so entertaining to read. But by far the best part of this manga was probably Tamaki and Haruhi's developing romance. Their relationship was exactly the type of relationship I liked in fandoms - where one character has the opposite traits of the other - therefore, together, they complete each other. Haruhi and Tamaki's relationship developed in a fantastic way - it was slow, they started out as friends, and they graudally come to realize that they love each other. It was so, SO adorable ~ The ending is wonderful, and it's very satisfying. 9.5/10
Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne: Beautiful manga. First of all, I'd like to say that the art is absolutely GORGEOUS. Arina Tanemura has such talent! Everything is drawn so detailed and beautifully. The plot is pretty great as well - it's in depth and has twists and development. The ending is amazing. The relationships between characters are amazing as well. Some things that bothered be was how Chiaki seemed so perfect. But of course, this IS a shoujo manga. -_-' Also, some of the development might seem a little too forced--I dunno quite how to explain this. 8/10
Kitchen Princess: I love this manga ~ it's truly an emotional manga for me. The story seems cliche, but the cliche is used skillfully. I seriously don't care how cliche this manga is at all, because the characters and the themes/messages are wonderful in this manga. Every chapter leaves with a heartwarming feeling, and it just gives you satisfaction in general. The art is okay at first, but gets better as you read on. 8.8/10
Merupuri: CUTE, cute manga! The plot is really interesting, the characters are wonderful, and the art is fantastic! The relationship between the main leads is really great, too. Good read. 8/10
Hanatsukihime: Short, sweet manga. It's shoujo, but it has fantasy elements, and it's more like a fairytale. The art is gorgeous, as well. Very detailed and drawn prettily. Set in fantasy!India. 7.5/10
Special A: Eh, this manga was so long. Kind of boring, but the thing that kept me going was the relationship between Kei and Hikari. Very cute. The ending didn't really leave me satisfied, though. 6.8/10
Destination Heaven Chronicles/Angel Diaries: Art is amazing, I'll give it that. The plot is pretty interesting as well. Some things in the plot didn't really make sense for me, but it was okay. The main male lead is quite a bishie~ The ending is good, but not great. 7/10
Galism: LOVE this manga. I love how it's a little bit more mature than the other shoujo manga - the girls are older and know more. Speaking of the girls, they are pretty awesome female characters ~ just saying. Some things may bother me a bit, but overall, the characterization is decent, I suppose. Really, REALLY funny! 8/10
Junai Tokkou Taichou: FUNNIEST. MANGA. EVARR. PERIOD. seriously. I laughed so hard that my ribs must have cracked. My sides hurt SO much! Great, amazing, sense of humor. The characters are so wonderful and lovable. The only thing I didn't like about it was that the relationship went a bit too fast, but that's okay because I like everything else about it! 8.5/10
Absolute Boyfriend: Second shoujo manga after the magical girl ones, I think. Cute story. The ending was a bit unexpected, but I knew she was going to get with him all along. 7.7/10
And that's all for today, folks! :D
