Your description of East TN made me envious - sounds wonderful. We've gone there on family trips all my life, so it holds a really special place in my heart, too.

The UA band is heading up for the UT game in two weeks and, as it's fall break, we get to spend some time in Gatlinburg. But I'm afraid it'll just be the touristy part. Nothing like the peaceful place you described :).
