I had such a great weekend with
treeofstars,
dradiscontact,
abfabambrosia, and
ecbvannWe showed up at the theater at 6:30 and froze our toes off waiting in the rain for an hour and a half. We wanted to make sure we got great seats and boy, did we. Front row! I adore the fact that Jamie, Kate and Rekha were there. It's just so cute that they all still hang out and support each other like that. I really adore the fact that Mary and Jamie are such good friends, for some reason - makes up in some way for the Laura and Lee fail in the show!
The play sounds awesome. What was the storyline? It would be great to see it turned into a full production, and if Mary was starring in it, I might have to dig into savings and find my way over there to see it!
Alternatively, someone could talk her into coming and performing on stage in London, cuz we miss her over here!
It all sounds wonderful, and I'm so happy for you all :D

So the story was about Mike, a gay hairdresser who runs a salon in Massachusetts. It starts out in the 60s with both main characters in their mid-20s. Candy (Mary) comes into the salon one day wary of this little salon and it's owner, but they hit it off and eventually form a deep friendship. The whole play takes place in the salon and it follows their friendship and all of life's ups and downs. Great characters. Their friendship was one that allowed deep conversations, but they could still be sarcastic and brutally honest with each other.
It would make me so happy if it became a full production. I would even go to London if they did it there!
