you are so sweet, thank you, bb♥ sophia coppola also wrote and directed a film version (which is where all the pics are from) which is absolutely stunning and I think you'd like it. it's really dark, though, so you'd have to be in the mood for a depressing movie.

OMG, this is absolutely perfect! I really need to finally read the book; my host mother took me to open-air cinema where they played that movie when I was in Paris this summer and... Oh gosh, it's such an amazing, amazing movie! Anyway, the mix is wonderful <333

It was! The waited until it became dark before they started the movie, and we were surrounded by thousands of people, all of us sitting int he grass, waiting for the movie to begin. Thankfully they played it English, too, because my French really isn't the best and I'd probably have understood only half of it, if so much lol. So, as an Austrian German speaker it was quite an experience to watch an English movie with French subtitles, tbh :D It still was quite an experience - and SO good. So haunting but beautiful.

T.T I'm so happy someone payed homage to the Lisbon girls. I love this book and movie so much and I don't think enough people appreciate the beauty beneath all the tragedy of it. <3
