Session 7 (I think?): We truly are just at the beginning of the beginning...

Well, I talked to my therapist on Wednesday (as one normally tends to do during a therapy appointment.  At this point she was neither able to confirm nor deny that what I've been visualizing sounded either real or imagined.  She did ask me if I had had a history of urinary tract infections as a child, which I had an enormous amount of problems ( Read more... )

I love and trust my husband more than anything in the world, but I would NEVER allow him to keep me out of the room during punishments for our children. EITHER of them. I think that just shouts that something I won't like is going on, whatever that may be.

Personally, it sounds as though it has probably happened, but I think it is important to come up with what you believe on your own. You are taking a much better and open approach to this kind of thing than I ever did! It amazes me!

As my mom told me, she was mostly afraid to go against anything he said because she was afraid he would turn on her. As a victim of his physical abuse, I can kind of understand, but on the other hand, I have always kind of felt like she abandoned me in that way, but I can understand why she held back like she did.

As far as true or untrue, I would of course like for it to not be true, but if it is, I want some kind of proof. I don't know how I would get it, but I think I will be disbelieving until I know for sure it actually happened.

As for being open, I'm not sure why, but in every part of my life, I've always felt like it was important to let someone know how I'm feeling, what I'm facing, and all the details that come along. I'm told it's healthy, but I have no idea why I do it. I just really like people to know what's going on with me, and the openness that all of you on here show helps motivate me to do so.

Thanks for your comment and support!

I can understand where she is coming from. I am the same about my mother. There are things she did/didn't do/whatever, but I understand why.

I would LOVE proof. I was that way for a long time. I am learning to accept that I probably won't find any.
