I'm pretty sure your friends are more interested in you and the company than the decor, but you could always do the instant quick fix student flat thing, which involves a couple of cheap throws for the furniture, a rug, wallhangings or large posters and a lamp or two if you've the time/money/inclination... have a fun evening, anyways :)
