About time I share my fantastic journey to the states with you all! Very picture heavy under cut ^^

I flew over to Corpus Christi, Texas, via New York and Houston, on tuesday October 5th 2010. My sister Beatrice and her lovely friend Britt picked me up at the airport and drove me out to Port Aransas, where my sister currently resides while she studies at the University of Texas.

I had waited until fall to avoid the worst of the Texas heat, so the weather was simply perfect for the 2½ weeks I stayed in Port A; around 30 degrees Celcius and never a cloud on the sky! First thing we did when I arrived was go for a midnight swim in the ocean. Otherwise we spent the days birding, going for walks, shopping, chilling at the beach, going out for drinks and mostly just relaxing and having an awesome time! A lot of time also went into planning our road trip (but that's another blog ;)).

Here are some random pics from beautiful and awesome Port Aransas:

This is the house my sister stays in (all by herself, so she had a spare room for me), close to the ocean and with howling coyotes just around the corner.

We rented a car through the first weekend and drove to San Antonio, where we saw the Alamo and the Riverwalk. Next day we went to Natural Bridge Caverns and then Six Flags amusement park where we rode a bunch of awesome roller coasters! Pics of all that:

One day we went to the Texas State Aquarium in Corpus. We even watched their dolphin show *hangs head in shame*

View of the USS Lexington.

Another day we went to some park I can't seem to remember the name of...

That's it for now, but more to come! Oh and there are more pics in my photobucket; http://s59.photobucket.com/albums/g310/Rosse86/USA/?start=all
