Visited Hagyards for their fellowship program and got to visit the Kentucky Horse Park across the street the day I left. If any of you are horse lovers, THIS is the place to go. What a memorable place to be. There many great horses buried here - and some of the grave stones are just powerful. There's a great presence there - many greats are laid to rest... and I'm sure their spirits still travel the grounds.
Me with one of the Trail of Painted Ponies - I actually have this one!
I absolutely love this statue of the foal. I *so* want it!
This is hard to see but this is the stride lengths of three Derby winners.
Secretariat,
John Henry, and
Man O' War.
This was the best of the whole place. This is
Man O War. His sons and daughters are buried around and with him in this memorial.
Bret Hanover, a famous Standardbred.
The inscription says, "Trusting loving hands on the reins while dancing in the dark."
Bask Elect +/ was a blind horse who was trained to once again carry a rider.
Can't wait to go back!!!
