As I've been preparing this December 12 of 12, I've also been watching that episode of "Sex and the City" where Carrie tells Aidan she's cheating on him...and it STILL pisses me off. You DO NOT do that to John Corbett.
Ahh, so with that fun introduction, let's get the festivities underway, shall we?
9:55 a.m. I honestly forgot about 12 of 12 until I got to work and pulled out the change I needed to buy the required Diet Pepsi out of the vending machine. Oy. What a week.
10:25 a.m. The main reason for that is that I'm now basically doing two jobs. I had to log onto my predecessor's computer for some guidance on how to do one of them.
12:29 p.m. A snack while I edited my first story for the new magazine.
12:30 p.m. My nearly five-year-old iPod died a sad death this week, so I'm keeping myself entertained at work with other people's music.
2:10 p.m. Some quick reorganization of all the products I've taken on in my new position before I left for...
2:37 p.m. The staff holiday party, held at our publisher's house up in the Encino hills. It's ridiculous.
3:49 p.m. One of my editors and the creative director put together what was basically a gag reel. They conducted interviews over past week with everyone in the company and conveniently changed the questions in the video. So, I'm now basically on video saying that the women's bathroom at my office turns me on. It was hilarious.
5:13 p.m. The publisher and my new art director playing Guitar Hero.
7:40 p.m. I was doing some experimenting...I'm not gonna have time for regular Christmas cards this year, so I may do something online, and I want an appropriately Californian image in case. Not sure if this will work, so I may try something else this weekend.
9 p.m. Amanda and I headed to Burbank on the 5 to grab a Christmas tree at Target and found ourselves caught in traffic due to a wreck, which led to...
9:19 p.m. DENIAL. Oh, Target itself was still open, but they closed the Christmas tree shop at 9. Yeah, I had a bit of a fit in the parking lot.
10:56 p.m. So we adjourned to Poquito Mas to boost our respective blood sugars. Tomorrow is another day.
