...photos are exploding all over it!
10:06 a.m. When we were up in Tahoe, we stayed at this place called River Ranch on Highway 89 right by Alpine Meadows. The lodge is right next to the Truckee River. Every morning, we'd grab our continental breakfast and then go read out on the patio, as I'm gearing up to do here. (The book was a Christmas present from my brother, who put the tag directly onto the book.)
11:19 a.m. We went on a walk up river from the hotel to find this spot we remembered from the last time we were there -- more than 10 years ago. The log we used to sit on has washed away, but it still has a cool view.

12:17 p.m. So I didn't take any pictures while we were lunching on River Ranch's patio, so this video will have to suffice. The patio there is notorious for its loud announcements over the loudspeaker (i.e. "Gerald, your tacos are ready!"). My dad was obsessed with hearing "Allison, your nachos are ready!" except I missed the first announcement, so he asked the dudes at the counter to say it again. Hilarity ensued.
1:21 p.m. The number one threat to America. This was hanging in the bathroom I shared with my brother and aunt.
2:05 p.m. My aunt took this picture...of Edith Ann and her little brother?
3:45 p.m. Up at High Camp at Squaw Valley, next to the ice rink.
4:07 p.m. Of course, we had to have a drink up at such high altitudes.
4:53 p.m. The shadow of the cable car on our way back down to Low Camp.
5:34 p.m. On our way to dinner, my parents wanted to stop by this furniture store in Tahoe City.
7:32 p.m. My suppah. It was yum.
8:06 p.m. The view of the sunset on the slopes of Lake Tahoe's South Shore.
9:29 p.m. My brother and I rounded out the day by watching old episodes of "American Gladiators" on ESPN Classic.
I ended up taking more than 200 pics up in Tahoe, the best of which are
here. A few of my favorites are
