The more I read about the bullshit going on in Vancouver, the happier I am that Toronto never got the 2008 Games. Granted, I don't know if the protests would have been quite as volatile: our aboriginal community's small compared to Vancouver's, so the Government probably wouldn't base the Olympic theme on some fakey-fake message of Native pride (which I assume is one of the main issues over there ( ... )

I think Toronto probably wouldn't be as crazy with the protests. Vancouver is pretty much full of career protester types. It gets to the point where they're protesting everything so nobody cares any more because surely EVERYTHING isn't something to be outraged by.
