I swapped texts with Craig. He said he and Mitzi are OK and should continue to be unless things get really bad. I have an e-mail in to Greg about the Kelleys, no response.
Dave Pease, for those who know him, has been evacuated, although he doesn't think his place is in danger.
On Monday a small fire broke out quite unexpectedly very close to us...if you know our neighborhood, it was on the upward slope of the hill looking down at the Albertsons on Fletcher Parkway. I heard about it while I was anchoring fire coverage on KLSD, and then zipped home while Mitzi was packing in a panic...and it was out before I got there. Yay living right next to a fire station

Our house in Mission Hills turned in the Hotel Rancho Rwanda, as we took in some friends and their pets. They are fine and we are fine. It was a nice little break from work...and I am happy to say that all of our friends and loved ones whose houses were in very immediate danger...all have a home to go back to.
Thanks. We are fine as well in Mission Hills. My wife and I are expecting our 2nd, so we have had our windows closed now for 6 days, to keep out the bad air. I feel as if we are running out of fresh air in our small townhome. Every smell gets to her now and that is not a good combination with the amount of soy protein I eat!
I have also had a little time to play cards in the midst of this. It is a good escape. I've had good luck winning 400 at Oceans 11 NL game, 400 in the Palomar 3-6kill and won the PCC weekly for 300. Not a bad week, so I'll be able to pay for any Fantasy Football losses with this $$. I'm in 3 leagues and that can present an untimely bill toward the holidays.
I'm glad the winds and dryness let up so our whole city didn't burn down. The house I lived at in Rancho Bernardo burned to the ground. Kind of strange to see that.
