i drove through a forest fire last night. it was awesome. just a wee one, about 1000 acres. portia and i in the front seat all stoked because the roadsides were still smoldering with little flames poking out here and there and the large plume of flame and smoke about 10 miles to the east. meanwhile, my cousin, a texan, is in the back seat
