I went to my first Scrabble tournament yesterday. It was just for fun, but I ended up getting second place ...in the lowest division, which had only 10 people, but still! I won a gift certificate to a bakery, yum. I also surpassed my personal record for number of games in a day. It's now at 6 ( Read more... )

Also, congrats on your win! The first several Scrabble tournaments I went to didn't offer any sort of gift for the lower ranking division(s), so that's really cool.

It was a charity tournament, so a lot of the prizes were donated by local businesses. I guess people were feeling generous :)

The charity was the Canadian Diabetes Association, but we were eating sweet treats all day, haha. There was also a prize for Best 'C-D-A' word.
