Unfortunate Tidings

Aug 05, 2011 19:04

There's really no good way to put this, so I'm going to be sadly short and blunt as I am wont to do when nervous.

I'm afraid that Lore and I are going to be closing Rotting.

There are no frightening reasons behind this decision, no significant drama in our lives - but unfortunately as two hard-working individuals with 40+ hours a week, we have found ourselves with less and less time to do the work needed for a game that has become increasingly NPC plot heavy and driven. Sadly we apparently have lives outside of LJ RP (we didn't realize this until we opened Rotting!), and no longer have the time to dedicate ourselves to this game.

So, other than the obvious condition that the game will no longer be going forward, what does this mean for the players?

THE BELOW PORTION IS VERY IMPORTANT:

1. We will not be kicking characters from the game. Current players are allowed to continue playing at Rotting (bearing in mind that there will no longer be active moderation and mod-based services such as plots, day changes, and NPC responses) for as long as they wish.

2. Anyone currently with a reserve may still apply into the game and play for as long as they like as the above stipulation states.

3. No new characters will be accepted or allowed into the game past those who already have reserved. Any current reserves and apping individuals will be informed that the game is closing and of the state of continued play.

4. We will not be allowing other individuals to take over Rotting. As Rotting is a lot of original material out of our heads, the most we can do is allow people to continue playing in the city of New Ashford for as long as they wish.

Any questions are free to go here. Lore and I thank you all for playing here and giving us a chance as mods, and apologize profusely for the inconvenience of this closing.
