here is the biggest quandary we face: how low do we tune?
C standard (like E only all strings dropped two steps) sounds good and is what josh homme uses in kyuss and queens. from there it's easy to drop the C to Bflat and it sounds like super low dropped D.
B standard (2.5 steps down) was used by at the gates. heavy as balls, though i'm not sure how well a guitar will take to such a low tuning.
sometime soon i'm going to have my tele re-strung and intonated to one of these but i'm not sure which. it might be best to go all the way to B because then putting a capo on the first fret equals C and putting one on the fifth fret equals stadard E.
