[ History ] :
Tamaki was born and raised in France with his mother, the illegitimate child of the head of the Suou family. He was raised with his mother's family, her doting parents, and kept a quiet and happy existence in their little estate. He didn't have many friends, because he rarely went outside to play - he preferred to keep his ailing mother company the many, many times she fell ill. Because of this, he managed to learn the piano, playing it for his mother in order to try and make her feel better.
Unbeknownst to him, in Japan, his father, thanks to the little tryst between he and Tamaki's mother, was without an heir. His grandmother, a cold, calculating woman quietly controlling the Suou empire, decided the only way to go was to try and train the boy that her son had produced in France. She hated him, hated his mother, because of what they represented - the one great rebellion of her son, and the slight downfall of the Suou empire. Because her son had divorced the woman she had chosen for him for this lesser-worth French woman, everything in her carefully laid plans had gone awry.
Even so, she still needed an heir.
She went to the failing estate of Tamaki's mother and offered her a trade: give me your son, and, provided you never again so much as speak to each other, I will make sure you forever live in comfort.
Tamaki's mother only made the decision at the request of Tamaki, who wanted more than anything his mother to be happy. He left France with his grandmother, taking the promise quite seriously, truly meaning to make his mother comfortable. (Soon after, his mother disappeared - no one knows where she has gone.)
Tamaki returned to Japan with his grandmother, who immediately banished him to the 2nd family estate, banning him from coming to the first, where she lived. He changed his name - born Rene Tamaki Richard de Grantaine - to simply Tamaki Suou, determined to become the heir his grandmother wanted. He started school at Ouran Academy, the school under his father's jurisdiction, the same year.
Almost immediately upon arriving, Tamaki started making waves. First, he managed to befriend - genuinely befriend - the third Ootori son, Kyouya. Together, they decided to form a club together - the infamous Host Club - with all of the beautiful heirs Tamaki chose (the Hitachiin twins, Kyouya, Hunny-senpai and Mori-senpai) and officially started the club the next year. The club gained in popularity just as it did in notoriety - there were some that believed the club was a major waste of time, some that believed Suou was just using his power and ability to gather some of the strongest families' heirs under his thumb... Not one of them could possibly be further from the truth.
The last addition of the club was the equally notorious commoner, Haruhi Fujioka, who had somehow worked her way into Ouran Academy with a full scholarship. At the time, they'd assumed her male (well, except for Kyouya, who figured it out instantly), and offered to set her up with one of the hosts for an appointment. Flustered, she backed into a Renaissance vase worth 800,000 yen, shattering it almost immediately. The hosts, just as immediately, changed their demeanor and demanded she become their errand boy.
This lasted only a day, until Tamaki decided to try and lecture the scruffy-looking "boy" in being a gentleman. He removed her glasses and was struck by her looks. The host club made Haruhi over, making her into a perfectly acceptable host, and took her into the club. Instead of running errands to pay back her considerable debt, she would now entertain ladies. 100 customers, Tamaki said, and set her to the task.
One of Haruhi's first guests was jealous of the attentions Tamaki was lavishing on her, and attacked her, causing the boys to douse the two women in water. The guest was banned from the club, and Haruhi was banished to 1000 customers instead, sending her in the back to change into a girl's uniform. That was when the Prince of the Host Club finally realized the truth - Haruhi was indeed a girl.
Undeterred, he kept her in the club.
For a year and a half the club carried on normally - having lavish balls, going to the beach, spending time together, visiting Haruhi's house - in their own, odd little way, Tamaki falling in love with Haruhi the whole way. Eventually the end of the school year came around, bringing with it the great Ouran Fair, a test to all the heirs of the school to put together a festival for their parents. The Host Club, of course, went all out, but at the event, Tamaki's grandmother demanded he spend time with one Eclair Tonnerre. By the end of the day, Tamaki had been asked to marry the girl. If he complied, he would be taken to France to see his mother.
He agreed.
Before he was whisked out of the country under secretive conditions - for his new fiancee took his phone and forbade him to return to the Ouran Fair - the Host Club burst into action. They refused to lose their king. Together, they managed to get the twins and Haruhi out of the school, even though they were being detained, in an attempt to secure the Suou's heir's marriage to a rich family, by the Ootori family. On their way to catch up with Tamaki's car, Hikaru fell off the carriage they were using, breaking his arm. Undeterred, Haruhi managed to take the carriage and catch up with Tamaki.
She pleaded with him to come home. He thought he'd been dragging the club down, or making them miserable with his personality, but no. They still loved him. The club knew they'd fall apart without Tamaki there to keep them together.
Tamaki abandoned Eclair (and managed to catch Haruhi, who'd fallen off the road) and returned to Ouran, to his true family.
This is where I'm taking him. <3
[ Personality ] :
Tamaki is, above all else, selfless. He genuinely wants everyone around him to be happy, and will go through painstaking lengths to make sure that this happens. He's been known to set up "chance" meetings at club balls just to make sure one girl got what she wanted, or drop everything just to make sure a doctor got to his daughter. He has no qualms about giving even the shirt off his back to someone if it means they're happy. He seems to have no thought for his own happiness, since being selfless is so natural to him. It's just impulse to him.
He's also naive. Ridiculously naive. No matter how insane the threat may be from any of the other Host Club members, he'll always take them seriously. He has such a set idea of how things are (especially when it comes to relationships between anyone but women and men) that it often clouds his judgment and makes him seem intolerable to new ideas (he's not, honest. He's just naive, and very honestly believes in the systems he was taught as a child).
Tamaki tends to be narcissistic. He, as with all things, genuinely believes that he is a beautiful, pure soul. He knows he's pretty, and he has no problem using his beauty to get what he wants, but he never uses it maliciously. He created the Host Club with the idea that his beauty would make girls happy, not because he thought it would flaunt his power or help him move forward somehow.
Without a doubt, he's a gentle, kind human being. He's been through terrible things in his life, situations that most people would find unforgivable, but he tends to forgive and accept everyone and everything. He doesn't think ill of his grandmother, no matter how terribly she treats him (and terribly she does), he loves his mother dearly enough to ensure her happiness for life (or so he thought) by leaving for Japan. Everything he does is genuine, and, though his naivety may make him seem shallow and stupid, he is an intelligent, caring boy, with more depth to him than immediately evident.
Tamaki loves his Host Club dearly even those two shady twins. To him, they are his family - himself, the father; Kyouya, his dependable and cunning mother; Haruhi his beloved daughter, and so on. He's loyal to them, his dearest friends, and would stand up for them and defend them all in a heartbeat. (Once, he even went as far as to threaten someone he thought had hurt Haruhi, though he dropped them immediately as soon as it was brought to his attention that it wasn't true.) He didn't have a lot of friends as a child, and, with his grandmother so cold and cruel, his future seems bleak, so his little oasis that is the Host Club is easily the dearest thing to his heart.
Tamaki is entirely too emotional. He holds a great deal of sadness inside him, but he's also outwardly emotional to the extreme. Any given second he can be flaunting his beauty proudly and suddenly, usually thanks to the twins, be in tears in his emo corner (and he's often in his emo corner). He often takes things way out of proportion, flying off the handle at any given moment with loud tones and wide, sweeping gestures (not that he ever truly gets angry, mind you. It's hard to truly anger Tamaki, due in part to his naivety and in part to his ability to handwave things or forgive people).
He's a dreamer, in the truest sense of the word, and he often has wild ideas for what to do in the club or how people will or should act. (The Theatre of Tamaki's Mind often shows the practical, boyish Haruhi blushing and looking timid, calling him senpai and - more often than not - giggly and lovestruck and dressed in women's clothing. Nothing could be further from the truth.) He's got such a pure and wholesome look on the world that even the smallest hint in his mind that something is wrong will spur him into action to change it or fix it, without hesitation. This... also tends to make him look pretty shallow.
He's a rich kid, and though he does know hardship he doesn't know poverty, so he'll often say things that seem brash or wicked in terms to poorer people, but he doesn't mean it negatively. He's ..just kind of an idiot, most of the time. (Like telling Haruhi that "just because the package says premium, that doesn't mean it's high quality sushi!" Bad move, Suou.)

[When the camera comes on, it focuses on a beautiful blonde-haired boy, his violet eyes wide and worried-looking. He notices the camera's working, and gives a warm smile, and just about then the camera starts to shake.]
H-hello, out there! I w-was wondering if anyone... if this cont-tacted anyone? I d-don't really know wh-what I'm d-doing here...
[It's pretty evident the shaking is because of him - the boy's in a huge, long-sleeved shirt that wraps around his shoulders, and there are straps for thin undershirts showing, plus some fashionably loose jeans, and he is soaking wet.]
I was j-just hoping someone could bring me a t-towel? I'm v-very wet and cold. [He laughs uneasily, he's shaking so hard.]
