Lately, my confidence as an ALT is not that high. I feel like I can't read the students and their abilities properly. I'm also not that creative with lesson plans. I'm not the type of ALT who is able to create endless games and activites when given a theme or goal for a lesson. I really wish I was. However, I do love the students and the school. Creating games sounds fun. Although I kind of understand where you're getting at. What kind of themes did you have to do?

For my 1st year high school kids, I have to use the same textbook in all of the classes. For example, this week's chapter is on talking on the phone. Last week was really difficult because it was riding in an airplane and it was a bit hard for them to imagine the situation. They also didn't know most of the vocab in the lesson like pillow, blanket, passenger and so on, so it took a long time to explain before we even got to the activity. Anyway, I take the textbook and I kind of have to make the activity a bit harder for the advanced class, lower for the not so advanced classes and somewhere in the middle for the other classes. I just need to get use to all of the levels. I think that I was already use to the kid's levels last semester, but now I have to get use to all of the new freshman. It's going slow, but I think it's getting there. Last week, I realized that one lesson was too hard. I simplified it and today it went better in another class.
