I get really oily hair and have done always. I also have very fine hair. I have found that herbal essences is one of the best champoo/conditioner for me, but I still have to wash my hair every day or it gets too oily for my liking. I used to not use conditioner and occassionally used plain soap to wash my hair, but using conditioner now doesn't seem to make a lick of difference to my oily issues and it makes my hair feel and look nicer. The only other thing I do sometimes is use a very small amount of hair wax to stop it from looking too frizzy (yes I get frizzy oily hair. gah) The only thing I can suggest is make sure you wash it every day. If its a recent thing I would check out your diet and see if you're doing anything different there.

NOOOOOO HERBAL ESSENCES IS EVIL! It made my head itch like mad. I recommend you use Dove Shampoo/Conditioner. Also, sometimes washing your hair a lot makes it oilier (I think I spelt that wrong...) because your head is trying to make up for the oil you washed off and makes twice as much. Try washing it with shampoo for normal hair and giving it a couple of days to recover and wash again.

I recommend changing shampoos like already mentioned above and seeing what happens.

Although I also read in a forum of girls with the same problem, and they were told that because they wash their hair too often that they are stripping their hair of it's natural oil and to compensate sometimes the scalp will produce even more oil, in effect making the roots really oily. So if the changing shampoo thing doesn't work, maybe try washing your hair every few days for a while and see how that works :)

But then again, some people just naturally have really oily hair :( Either way, good luck!
