Beth's not talking about our government, our politics - she's talking about our real culture, which is far more individualistic than most of the world. If you had lived in a place like where she is you'd realise how fortunate we are to be as free as we are and how desperately we should fight, if it came down to it, to retain that freedom. And if you have lived in such a place, I suggest you try it again, and this time without the blindfolds of political correctness and cultural relativism
