factcheck.org is reporting this was incorrect. "She did not demand that books be banned from the Wasilla library. Some of the books on a widely circulated list were not even in print at the time. The librarian has said Palin asked a "What if?" question, but the librarian continued in her job through most of Palin's first term."

Not sure that makes me dislike her less, but there it is.

Well, it's all about spin isn't it? My quote above says "She asked the library how she could go about banning books." She didn't demand that they be banned. However, I get the impression she wanted them to be banned. That bothers me. Additionally, the quote says she "threatened to fire Baker". Not that she was actually fired. Now the "threatening" could be hearsay as I don't believe there is any proof that she said such a thing, but a "bulldog with lipstick" seems likely to be threatening. I would sure be scared of one!
