Yuto had finally gathered enough courage to confess to Keito. Well he wasn’t going to confess in person (he was still too shy for that) but rather through a letter. He had been in love with the older boy for over a year now so he decided that it was time to confess. Although making that letter perfect was a troublesome task. He kept crumpling paper after paper. Rewriting it over and over again to mnake sure that his feelings were perfectly conveyed. It took him most of the night to write and in the end it only said:
I’ve liked you for over a year now. Would you go out with me?

It was now their lunch break and Yuto was walking towards Keito’s class. After investigating (aka eavesdropping) he found out that Keito’s desk was the one in the third row towards the back. He walked towards the desk and couldn’t help but smile. This was it. The moment he anticipated was finally here. Without giving it another thought he slipped the note in between the pages of the workbook that was lying on top of the desk. After making sure that no one was around he left the classroom and headed to his usual hang out spot to meet with his friend.
“So did you do it” Yuto heard his best friend asking him.
Chinen Yuri has been his best friend since back in the play ground days. They had meet when Chinen had pushed Yuto out of the way to use the swings first. After that they became inseparable. They never hid anything from one another which is why Chinen knew about his love towards Keito.
“Yeah I did. I left the note in between his workbook pages” he told him.
“Don’t worry, everything will be okay” Chinen told him and with that both boys started eating.
The day went on and Yuto hadn’t heard anything from Keito yet. He wondered if the boy had already read his note yet. The bell rang signaling the release of classes. Yuto sighed and walked out of his class and towards where Chinen was waiting for him.
“Any progress yet “was the first thing Chinen asked Yuto. Yuto just pouted and shook his head indicating a no. As they were leaving they heard a faint ‘Nakajima-kun’. At first Yuto thought that he was just hearing things but when he heard it again he stopped and turned around. He was surprise though when he found himself face-to-face with Yamada Ryosuke. The boy was in the same grade as them but he tended to be a loner. He would always be spotted by himself which caused people to tease him to no end. Even though everyone would make fun of him he would never loose his smile.
“Yeah” Yuto responded. He found it strange that Yamada was speaking to him. In all honestly he had only spoken to the other boy once, and that was when some years back they were paired for a project.
“Can I talk to you for a moment? In private” Yamada asked him. Yuto just nodded and followed Yamada to a more secluded spot.
“So what did you want to talk about” Yuto finally asked before things got to awkward.
“Well I wanted to talk to you about this” Yamada said as he showed Yuto a very familiar looking note. “I’m really flattered that you like me and want to date me, but don’t you think it’s a little too fast? We don’t even know each other” Yamada told him.
Yuto was stunned. Why did Yamada have the letter that was meant for Keito? How did he get it? But before he could question himself even further Yamada’s next words brought him back to reality.
“But since you feel this way then let’s go on a date tonight. I’ll pick you up at 7 okay. Well bye then” and with that Yamada left leaving a shocked Yuto by himself.
