It was never a stress fracture - it's officially an "osteoid osteoma," which means that staying off of it was a futile measure. The internet says that these will sometimes go away on their own. My doctor says that his training indicates that removal is preferable, but he's referring me to a bone tumor specialist in Nashville. We'll see what she

Wow...well at least now you know what it is. I'm glad you found a Dr. that could diagnose you and set you on the course for some relief.

Yup, officially an Osteoid Osteoma according to the bone tumor specialist. Benign, and likely to go away on its own...
