and sometimes validation isn't a bad thing. Even if it seems self indulgent to be honest sometimes people need to hear what you actually think, so they know. I hate it when it's assumed that quiet resolve will be easier on the person. Who says easier is better? Who says they can't deccide for themselves? Not telling them how you feel is like saying the other person is a two year old who is totally unable to deccide what they need for themselves, so you'll make it easier and act as a buffer zone between them and the world. But you know what? They -can- handle it and still know what's best! Really it might have been easier on you both if the person was honest. Maybe what they needed was to hear you -say- what you felt say what you feel. When it was still possible. Maybe forcing them to play gussing games by switching emotions just makes them even more depressed because they feel like they are being completely forgotton and left behind. Maybe it never mattered to you, and you know they could handle you saying that too. I don't understand
