“Damn it Kamenashi, can you teach your group to dance? Some of us have better things we could be doing tonight and would like to not be stuck in rehearsals because you’re group sucks.”
“KAT-TUN can dance just fine, Nishikido, and we didn’t ask to be stuck working with News either.”
“Please, fish-lips keeps missing the last twelve counts. How hard is it to remember the steps?”
“Excuse me!” Ueda interjected
“Don’t try to put all the blame on Tat-chan, Kato-kun looks like he’s going to have an aneurism during the chorus parts.”
“Hey!” Shige protested.
“Stop! Just, stop!” The choreographer shouted, “We’re taking a break, be back here and ready to work in fifteen minutes.”
The two groups dispersed; some of the members headed to the roof for a quick cigarette, some headed to the vending machines for something cool to drink and a small snack to boost their energy. Shige plopped himself down in the middle of the floor in the practice room, closing his eyes and letting the calming silence sweep over him. He scowled, but allowed his eyes to remain closed when he felt the presence of another person settle down next to him. When he felt a foot nudge his leg he turned his head to glare up at the person who was interrupting his peace.
“Nishikido’s an ass, how do you put up with him all the time?”
Shige chuckled lightly and stared up at the ceiling, “He’s not so bad when he’s in a good mood, and at least he isn’t very high maintenance; I don’t think I’d survive being in a group with Kamenashi-kun.”
Ueda laughed at that, “Isn’t Tegoshi pretty high maintenance though?”
“A bit,” Shige shrugged, “Usually it’s Massu or Nishikido-kun that get the brunt of it though, and Kei-chan is pretty good at keeping peace among the members when things do get a little extra crazy.”
Ueda snorted, “I know all about how awesome Koyama is, Nakamaru always feels the need to share.”
“At least you don’t have to worry about walking in to your break room and finding two of your group members having sex on the couch that you were planning to go sleep on.”
“I just have to worry about Kame seducing juniors.”
Shige smiled at the older man, “Alright, you win.”
There was a foot nudging Shige’s leg again, “Want to grab a beer after rehearsals? We’ll probably need it after dealing with both of our groups.”
“Probably, but it might just make the morning rehearsal even worse tomorrow.”
“Wouldn’t it be worth it though?”
Shige contemplated it for a minute, “Yeah, I guess. You pay for the beer and I’ll buy you coffee in the morning.”
Ueda lay down and joined Shige in staring at the ceiling, “Deal.”
