[See Fuji, toting around his camera and tripod with all the enthusiasm of a person very dedicated to playing tourist. He's taking pictures of everything, seriously. The walls, the puzzles -- even you, but you probably wouldn't realize it until you see the flash go off from the corner of your eyes.

Ah, but he's now approaching you (yes, you) with... what appears to be an external camera flash unit.

Cheerfully--] Hey, might I borrow your hands for a sec?

[Incredulously offended, he scoffs softly.] Excuse me? I hardly think anything that's not working towards getting us out of here could be remotely considered 'useful'.

And you should stop playing around, your constant flashing with that thing is giving me a headache.

[is torn whether to sigh or laugh at you two, really] Do you have an alternate suggestion, then?

Here I thought we just got here, all things considered. Aren't you putting too much effort into playing the happy tourist? [Lightly. And he takes yet another picture of the pillar, just be contrary. The camera flash bounces twice along the darkened walls.]

[Huffs because no, no he does not, actually.]

I'm just saying it's not productive. I thought we were supposed to be looking for clues that would solve a puzzle and help get us home.

[Twitches a little when the flash goes off again.] But if you two want to waste time while someone else figures it out, suit yourselves.

[sudden flash from right by his head urk.]

It's not very helpful for all of us to crowd around the puzzle at once, is it? Not nearly enough room. But if you're that concerned about it you could always go help out.

I don't think the puzzle necessarily guarantees a ticket home, at any rate.

[another flash. To Oshitari--] A little more to the right, please?

And if it does and we're beaten to it? Maybe I will go help. They could probably use a mind like mine and guarantee or not, I'd rather find out knowing I at least tried rather than idling around here screwing up my eyesight.

From what I saw, it looked like a slider puzzle of some kind, so unless it's truly fiendish I doubt it really requires great intellect to solve. Though I'm sure you'd be a great asset regardless.

[moves a bit to the right!] Is that better?

Depends. Have you ever seen a slider puzzle before, Atobe? [a pause] Actually, the more important question is, have you ever seen a slider puzzle that wasn't gold-plated?

And yes, that is b- [...... woooooah ground shaking. *A* it cuts him off, and he frowns, vexed. except he doesn't have time to remark on it, because the ground literally opens up below them aaaaaand.

well, you know what happens next.]

Of course I have! [A pointed glare.] And does it matter what it's made of? A puzzle is a puzzle after all and I'm quite adept at....

[Whatever he was going to say is cut off and his eyes go a little wide. He shoots a look to Oshitari for some inexplicable reason just before the floor begins to shift, pebbles and sand rushing past before it gives way totally.

The next thing he knows is that it's VERY DARK and it's hard to breathe. Possibly because there is someone on top of him. At least he doesn't seem to be injured...]

G-get off of me! What happened?!

[wait why is the ground shaking oh CRAP--]

[ow. well here we are. in the dark. in an awkward tennis pile.] A-Ah, is that you I'm on top of...?

[Not a lot of groaning from this one -- just heavy breathing, and he's trying not to seem too entirely frightened right now, but the crux of the matter is, he really, really is.

A weak chuckle.]

I don't know about that, but I'd appreciate whoever it is to move off my leg. I... can't really feel it right now. [grimace, pause.]

[Shifts testingly. Echoes Fuji's soft but slightly manic laugh.]

Neither of you should be this inexplicably heavy...

[Shakes his head in attempt to clear his vision, a rather futile effort in the dark.] Is everyone...all right?

[gives a light snort at Atobe's first statement and carefully rolls off whoever it is he's landed on. starts digging in his pockets for his flashlight.] I think so...though do be careful where you step when you get up, I think I dropped my glasses.

Fairly. [A cough, and he inhales.] You know, if this sort of thing becomes recurring... you'll need to get one of those dinky swimming chains for your glasses. They come in pink, you know?

[As he speaks, he's slowly tugging his leg out from under... whoever it is that's sitting on it. His flashlight should be in his bag, but he's not sure where his bag is. A pause.] Anyone have a light?

The useful kind, mind.
