[Even cosplay cafes have to serve cool green tea, and that's what Yukimura's sipping as he watches the tennis players gathered around the table and waits for the inevitable trolling/arguing/personality clashes that will result.]

[Another sip of tea, and he murmurs - possibly to himself, possibly to the person next to him:]

We'll have to repay Fuji for this wonderful idea.

[ Niou thinks the waitresses are perfectly kosher. His eyes are trained on a particular blonde dressed as a Flareon when he answers Yukimura, his tone dismissive, but quiet. ]

We don't owe Fuji shit, dude. Not least of all because he's Seigaku.

Hmm. Do you think he really is anymore?

[He says it idly, swirling his tea in its glass, not looking at Niou - or Fuji. (Or the waitresses.)]

His captain isn't here. Neither is most of his team. I wonder how deep his loyalty goes?

The second they come back, he'll defect, I promise.

[ It's said with a touch of bitterness, though his expression, should Yukimura look, is dismissive. ]

But for now? You're right. He's with us; he owes us and he knows it.

Maybe. I suppose we might see, eventually. Fuji isn't necessarily the most steadfast person - but he does seems to feel a strong sense of personal loyalty.

[He doesn't look at Niou, but he understands that tone of voice.]

I've gotten quite fond of him. If only he'd consider switching schools.

Guess I don't hate the dude.

[ It's a supreme understatement, and Yukimura likely knows it. ]

We might as well try it before his captain shows up.

[Yukimura does know it, and as such sees no need to respond to that.]

I'm glad you agree. It would be difficult if you or Yagyuu objected - of course, I don't know how possible it is. But we'll see.

Niou takes a moment to think over that statement and all its potential implications. Without Sanada and Renji here, maybe he and Yagyuu will have to fill those shoes. They're some damn big shoes, he thinks with a chuckle, but if Yukimura needs them - ]

I'm sure Yagyuu won't argue, either. I think Fuji's got him on the hook.

[Though he hasn't thought of it exactly that way, to a certain extent it's true - without Sanada and Renji around, Niou and Yagyuu have been somewhat drafted into becoming Yukimura's second-in-commands. He would never ask of them as much as he asks of Sanada and Renji, but without noticing he's begun to depend on them much more than he once did.]

That's good to hear - I think. Should I be worried about something happening with those two?

[ Niou shrugs a bit. ]

Nah. I figure Fuji'll win him over eventually. If anyone should be worried, it's me. They might elope together or somethin'.

[A moment's thought. It actually would be.]
