I'm often tempted to write down my own thoughts in the margins of books that I own.

A week or so ago a picked up a bunch of books at a used book store. One of them was The Stranger, by Albert Camus. It's pretty obvious that at one time or another, a student owned it, as it's filled with underlines and the margins are filled with little notes. It makes for some interesting reading, especially when I run into something like this: (

:) It took me a long time to be able to write in my books. Now I am tempted to buy an extra copy of my favorite books just for the purpose of annotating.
