Week 38, Friday 5/21/2004: Rowan Academy Spring Ball

The gymnasium in Redwood is gaily decorated with flowers, pastel streamers and glittering ornaments of various shapes suspended from the ceiling. A chimerical tapestry with the image of a rampant gryphon on it hangs prominently, its colors glowing to faerie sight with the Glamour only dreams can give. Rita-Anne glided into the gym in the same red dress that she wore at the Valentine's Day dance (minus the roller-blades). After thanking the two graybeards most profusely (and probably confusing the heck out of them in the process with her genuine demeanor, her very kind words, and her difficulty to tell the whole truth), she made her way to the food-stuffs and takes a few milk-free snacks.

Khimaris, already having said hello to "The Greybeards," hovers at the food table herself, a half-full plate in one hand. Dressed to the nines in a lilac-colored, silken sheath, she idly taps her hoofs in time with the soft music. Oddly, those Satyr legs only come part way up, but she doesn't seem to mind. She does seem to be minding something, however, frowning a little as she looks around. Her gaze keeps darting to the crowd as if she's looking for someone, but she manages a smile for Rita-Anne.

"Hello there. Lovely dress."

"Indeed," Longshadow whispers, popping up beside Khimaris. "Yet again I am wooed by the wonders of Rowan Academy."

He, too, is dressed quite formally, wearing a stylish if somewhat battered Victorian opera suit, cape, and black gloves. A single white rose has been pinned to his lapel, though he carries two others as if waiting for a couple special someones to give them to.

"So, ladies. Do either of you have companions on this fair eve?"

Khim's expression could be a frown or slight smile--it's hard to tell. "Only if they show up. If not, hold me a dance? You look like the graceful sort."

[dame_ria]

Resplendent in a spaghetti-strapped claret-colored gown accented by a garnet pendant set in silver and matching earrings, her auburn hair fluffed into a halo of curls, Ria enters the gym, pausing to offer polite greetings to the chaperones, along with a curtsey for Lady Illyrie.

Willy comes into the gym wearing a black suit, with a pale pink shirt and a black tie. He has on his feet a pair of polished black dress shoes. He smiles and speaks with Lady Illyrie and Lord Julien. "Lord? Lady? How are you this evening?"

[rowan_staff]

"Quite well, Wilhelm," the dark-haired sidhe returns pleasantly. "I hope you enjoy yourself this evening."

[willytroll]

Willy bows slightly to both of them. "I am sure I shall. I hope my date shows soon. She was still getting ready." He turns and moves twords the buffett table.

"And the wait wasn't worth it!"

Bonnie rushes up to Willy, her ruffled skirt flying. She stops a few feet away and does a slow turn, displaying her pink dress and carefully curled hair. She's actually wearing make-up, too, just a little bit, trying to look a little older than she is maybe, or just pretty for her boyfriend.

Alexi enters wearing a classic tux with tails. He looks around to see if Horus is there already, and not seeing the Eshu-kin nods to the various others around the room.

When he wanders close to her, Rita-Anne grabs Alexi's hand, and pulls him onto the dance floor. "Having a boring time?" she asks, grinning.

"Oh da, very boring time." Alexi grins, "Though I expect it will be more boring once boyfriend is showing up."

[gudgeon]

Shitshitshitshitshit! I can't believe I'm late for this! God-damned furking morons in traffic! They should all be nuked!Hurrying away from his motor cycle along the paths of Rowan's grounds, Gudgeon is smoothing and straightening his clothing and doing his best to bring his hair under control, dodging the uneven paving stones of the walkway, all whilst trying to keep hold of a small white box, which moves from hand to hand and sometimes to armpit before being returned to one of his hands. It looks almost like some strange juggling act

Grinning for ear to ear, Longshadow comes running across the gymnasium, dodging a few of the dancers. There's a rose in each of his hands, one of which he presents to the handomely attired young Nocker. "You look fabulous!"
