Things that make me happy

This video has been making the rounds, and it brings out the utter romantic in me - the look on the bride's face really gets me. I also love that it seems like such a feminist entrance to a somewhat traditional wedding - the couple walking themselves down the aisle, after having been surrounded by their tribe.

I love that they end the last half of that walk down the aisle with their own take on the traditional 'step-touch-step' processional stride.

These are the sorts of weddings I want to do. That's awesome.

Much love,
Rowan

dancing to a song by a guy that beat the shit out of a woman is feminist?

Fair enough, I didn't know the song or who it was by, I was just drawn to the unusual ceremony.

sorry i didn't mean to seem snappy, but I just found the song so off-putting.

While I'm all for dismantling the heteronormative, I'm not sure I think that dancing down the aisle is doing it. It certainly is a change from tradition, but it's still a church union between a man and a woman.

i guess it's something?

I'm with you on that, I actually struggled with the idea of putting the label feminist on any legal marriage, but I couldn't think if a better way to articulate what I wanted to say. Actually wishing I hadn't now; you are right in that highlighting the lack of bride giving away and what not is not particularly progressive at this point.

Wow, if that was the wedding, what on earth did they do for a reception?

Someone else posted it here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8DCt3Lmi28). Of course, that copy will probably be taken down too.
